Galerie Nichido and nca | nichido contempoporary art are pleased to announce their participation to Art Basel HK 2025 which will be on from March 26 (Wed.) to 30 (Sun.), 2025.
For Art Basel HK 2025 nca | nichido contemporary art joins its main gallery Galerie Nichido bringing together modern and contemporary art. Galerie Nichido presents works by Western-style Japanese painters represented by the gallery from its inception: Yuzo Saeki, Katsuzo Satomi, Zenzaburô Kojima, Kinosuke Ebihara, Takeshi Hayashi, Toshiyuki Hasegawa. Founders and prominent members of the 1930’s Dokuritsu Bijutsu Kyokai, they created a unique style that would change Japan’s oil painting forever. On the other hand, nca displays new works by its represented artists, Shinya Imanishi, Chihhung Liu, and Pin-Ling Huang, whose practice has been deeply informed by Japan’s modern Western-style painting, especially by those very Japanese artists who in 1930 brought about innovation to Japan’s art scene.
