Brazilian artist Maria Nepomuceno will join us for a talk event at the Embassy of Brazil in Tokyo on the occasion of the artist’s Japan-first solo exhibition, Nasci de uma flor / I was born from a flower.
Nepomuceno will offer an insight into her artistic pratice, starting from her earlier works to her most recent endevors. We are looking forward to you joining us for this fantastic event.

Shihoko Iida (Curator)

After eleven years serving as Curator at Tokyo Opera City Gallery, Iida joined the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane as Visiting Curator, and continued her curatorial practice in Seoul under the CPI International Fellowship Programme under the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea. She was appointed Curator of the 15th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh 2012 (official curator of Japan participation), Aichi Triennale 2013, and Associate Curator of Sapporo International Art Festival 2014. Iida was Associate Professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts from 2014 to 2018.
Over the years she has co-curated contemporary art exhibitions in various cities in Asia, Australia and Milan. She served as Chief Curator (Head of Curatorial Team) of Aichi Triennale 2019 and Aichi Triennale 2022. Currently, Iida has been working for Aichi Triennale 2025 as Head of Curatorial.
